WE MUST NEVER FORGET OUR POW/MIA and will strive to obtain a full accounting until they have all returned home. It is the obligation of our government, our elected officials, to BRING THEM ALL HOME! The POW/MIA issue is one of the primary focuses of the National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition and we will continue to support legislation and renew dialogue with government officials and committee members.

Our POW/MIA gallery is a reminder of those who still have not been returned. Our gallery Memorial Page has been designed as a tribute to those POW/MIA whose remains have been returned and whose identities have been confirmed.

Please refer to DPMO's website for the most current, updated information on the POW/MIA issue, especially for the latest on remains recovery and a listing of the names whose remains have been repatriated.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Subject: Former Congressman asks for tribunal to investigate McCain, PACOM/JPAC brass

Here is some big breaking news on the live POW front that many believe is long overdue.

It is my understanding that former Congressman Billy Hendon (R-NC) filed such a request at the State Department in Washington this morning. As seen at ww.enormouscrime.com , Hendon is requesting that the tribunal be established to investigate Sen. McCain's and PACOM/JPAC officials' repeated refusal to go with him and former Congressman John LeBoutillier (R-NY) and the press to conduct a fully transparent LSI of a confirmed underground prison for American POWs in Hanoi. Again, you can read Billy's formal request and view the supporting documents that accompanied it at his website, www.enormouscrime.com .

It seems appropriate to mention here that on October 4, 1984, as executive director of the RELEASE Foundation, I spoke to then Representative John McCain when I went to Babylon, New York to endorse Paul Anabolli who was the Republican congressional candidate for that district. Of course my question to him was related to what he intended to do about American prisoners of war who were still held by the Vietnamese communists. His response was that if he were given proof that our men were still held, he would take his plane and attack Hanoi himself. Well since then Johnny McCain has done everything in his power to bury the truth about American servicemen who were abandoned as prisoners of the communist government of North Vietnam, it is time that he be taken to task for violation of the Code of Conduct.

Why is there no news coverage of prisoner of war (POW) Bowie Berghdal?
Click on the link below for more on him. Is he in Afghanistan or another country? Is his picture shown to our troops in Afghanistan in case they see him with some Afghanis? Does anyone care that we have live POW who is abandoned by the news media? I do hope there is an effort to free him. He may already have been found to be expendable since he is just a soldier. I do hope that someone does care about him and will make an effort see him free. What would happen if he was a child of the president? I want the same effort made to free POW Bergdahl. He is as important as the president's child or the child of any political figure. He needs to come home.

LETTER FROM MAJOR MARK SMITH, USA

We swore after Vietnam:NEVER AGAIN! Yet,once again brave men are left to rot in a far away land. Why? Because,we are a gutless and uncaring society. Any lame explanation will do and we will say:" Well that is it, they are all dead." We are so worried about treating their leaders we capture right? If there is a smidgen of evidence they know what happened to our brave men, stress them mightily until they talk. Those crying the most about how we treat the enemy did not care one whit when the Vietnamese were brutalizing us. Our good men are more important than "creature comforts" or Korans for our enemies.Ours were Soldiers and their's are specifically denied rights under the Law Of Land Warfare. They were and are hostage takers and terrorists.Time for us to care for our own and throw out of office anyone who even mentions the rights of our enemies, without speaking first about our own.I am a former POW and I understand fully the implications of my words. So hear this! I do not want to hear again how that bunch of yahoo MPS were "torturing" anybody. They were acting in an undisciplined and childish way. They have been punished.I do not want to hear about civil courts for a bunch of non-uniformed terrorists. That they were even captured and not shot outright was the only gift they should be getting. We shoot or hang spies and those who use the civilian population as a shield. At least we used to.Our men deserve to be recovered and any amount of pressure which must be applied to these evil spouting zealots to get these good folk's relatives home, one way or another, is justified.Allow no politician to speak again of the rights our terrorist enemies enjoy."Secret Prisons"? I hope we have fifty of them and we are drugging them or whatever and getting answers. Our priority has to get back to Americans and their well being. If the above offends you, well screw you to. I am tired of opinions.I want this mans family member accounted for.In keeping with the silly bull of today:

" I am Major Mark A. (ZIPPO) Smith and I approved this damn message"! Mark
